Sophie Marren’s Second Dress Puts Fun Twist On Wedding Style
Anyone looking for bridal inspiration can’t go wrong turning to the Ireland rugby team’s better halves, and the newest stylish bride to walk down the aisle is Sophie Marren.
Sophie and her new husband Robbie Henshaw said I Do at Cashel Palace in March and while her satin wedding dress had us swooning when the official pictures dropped, her second dress of the day was just as dreamy.
She changed into a fitted gown for the evening celebrations with long sleeves and cut-outs. Sophie made sure all eyes were on her statement dress by ditching her veil and personalized sleeves to dance the night away.
If you’ve fallen for Sophie’s evening dress, then the good news is we’ve searched the internet and it appears to be the Alex Perry Cohan satin-crepe cutout gown which has padded shoulders and a fitted skirt with a slit up the back.
The full-length fitted style has long sleeves with zipped cuffs and a sweetheart neckline featuring a cutout detail, adding a little fun twist to a standard white bridal look.
The Alex Perry gown is still available on MyTheresa in a couple of sizes for a reduced price of €1,040 but we’re sure they won’t hang around for long, especially considering the dress usually costs €2,600.
Sophie’s daytime look was equally chic, with the bride wearing a sophisticated satin wedding dress with a square neckline and A-line detail. She added a pair of embroidered gloves saying ‘The Henshaws’ and ‘Til Death Do Us Part’ to complete her look.
Rugby ace Robbie was looking equally suave in his black suit and white shirt with wedding pictures taken by photographer Peter Carvill showing the newlyweds locking eyes and posing with their wedding party.
Among the guests on the day were Ireland rugby couples including Joanna Cooper and her husband Conor Murray, Harriet Beirne and her husband Tadhg as well as Jess Redden and Rob Kearney.
Following the big day, the wedding guests continued the celebrations with a lively day two before crashing Ireland captain Peter O’Mahony and his wife Jessica’s house in Cork for a huge party. What a month our Six Nations champions are having!
