I found the dream wedding guest dress for £30 – I love the pattern, but people said it would upstage the bride
A FASHION fanatic has revealed she’s found the dream wedding guest dress for this year – and it will only set you back £30.
Alana Thomson, from Glasgow, regularly shares her shopping hauls and clothing finds with her 50,000 followers on TikTok (@alana_thomson_).
In a recent post, the 5ft 2in mum modeled a new blue and white patterned frock that she picked up online.
The Grace Karin dress is on sale on TikTok Shop for just £29.57, and comes in four patterns.
But Alana’s divided opinion after insisting the frock would make the perfect outfit for attending a wedding – with some people claiming it would upstage the bride.
“What’s your thoughts on wearing white and blue to a wedding?” Alana asked.
“Obviously you would ask the bride. I think if it was me personally I wouldn’t care, because it’s white and blue.
“But I know people are probably going to come at me and say you should never do that, you’ll upstage the bride.”
However, she immediately pointed out: “How can you upstage the bride in a dress that’s not a wedding dress? Really, let’s be honest here.
“Anyway, I’d 100% ask the bride but Grace Karin [online shop] wow.
“These little straps are adjustable. This is all stretchy. You literally just [suck] right into it.
“It’s got this little mermaid or fishtail which bunches at my knee and then flares out. It’s super cute.
“What I will say is though, you’re not hiding the tum in this.”
Many fashionistas were in full agreement that the floral dress would look great at a wedding.
One said: “100% this is perfect.
“Anyone thinks a £30 dress gonna take the stage to a bride needs a reality check.”
A second echoed: “That’s gorgeous, I would wear that to a wedding, would be beautiful with blue accessories.”
Meanwhile, a third wrote: “I’m completely against wearing white to a wedding but that dress has a blue pattern. So it’s allowed.”
But others have insisted that the dress breaks the ultimate wedding rule of not wearing white.
One fumed: “No white should be seen at a wedding unless it’s in the bride. Sorry hun but no.”
It’s not the first time Alana has faced criticism over a wedding guest dress.
Absolutely not! Stealing a bride’s thunder.”
After trying on a gorgeous yellow mini dress from ASOS earlier this month, the mum hailed it as the “perfect wedding outfit idea”.
The £120 satin frock boasts a V-neck at the front and a large bow detail at the back.
“Sorry but it’s a big NO”, claimed one fashion fan.
While a second chimed in: “Absolutely not! Stealing a bride’s thunder.”
We previously told how Alana found the ONLY dress you need for summer – it’s only £22 and comes in seven colours.
Modeling the Cider frock in a pretty green color, she says it can be worn for any occasion.
The 5ft 2in mum said: “Cider, you’ve done it again. Another cute little dress.”
